Before Assigning
a Task
In the translation process, several crucial factors are considered at HeliCo. First, the translators’ proficiencies in the target language are verified during recruitment through checks and translation tests. Secondly, their specialization in the required field is confirmed, as marked in our Project Management Tool. Additionally, their availability and ability to meet deadlines are assessed. Lastly, their knowledge of CAT and QA tools relevant to the task is considered for ensuring efficient translation processes.
AFTER DELIVERING
a Task
In assessing translation quality, we scrutinize the style, examining whether there are embedded clauses or an overly verbose approach, and if the text's readability is compromised while still conveying the intended meaning. Additionally, an LQA form is employed, completed by a second translator, to identify recurring technical errors for corrective feedback in subsequent projects. Our rigorous QA process includes the use of Xbench, Verifika, and the built-in QA tools of Trados and Phrase, with all translators required to perform QA checks.
